Chapel Lodge Standardbred R&R

Chapel Lodge Standardbred Rescue and Rehabilitation Inc.

Sponsorship Announcement

From 360 Equine Body & Mind:

360 Equine recently announced for applications for Sponsorship for the 2018 season. After many worthy applications I have made the difficult decision down to a lucky few...

One of them is Chapel Lodge Standardbred Rescue & Rehabilitation. They are a registered charity and are the biggest rehomer of The Standardbred here in SA.  Kerry Rose works tirelessly to find homes for these beautiful horses. I will be supporting this charity with my therapy skills & in doing so, helping these horses make the transition from track to hack.
Could I also ask you show your support in perhaps donating a few dollars, as any form of support is greatly lacking here in SA for ex Harness Racers.

HRSA annouces historical animal welfare

initiative - Partnership with Chapel Lodge

28 July 2015
by Office of the Chief Executive Officer, John Lewis
As part of its ongoing commitment to animal welfare, and in particular its support of retired standardbreds, Harness Racing SA are delighted to announce an historic partnership with Chapel Lodge Standardbred Rescue and Rehabilitation, a not for profit charity.

Located on 21 acres in Lewiston, South Australia, Chapel Lodge works closely with the harness racing industry in re-homing horses to transition from racing to pleasure riding. They have re-homed approximately 80 horses over the past four years, and this partnership with HRSA will assist Chapel Lodge in sustaining this most important and valued service.

Chapel Lodge also provide services for horses that have either been abandoned or neglected. Currently Chapel Lodge have around 32 horses under their care, with a range of support and services provided including foster care, veterinary and farrier support as well as feed and transport, horse education and insurance. As part of the partnership, HRSA will provide direct funding assistance to Chapel Lodge in order to meet its ongoing commitments.

Chapel Lodge includes a team of professional people including many volunteers with extensive equine industry backgrounds and who have a genuine commitment to this cause, promoting life after racing.
Importantly the partnership with Chapel Lodge reflects HRSA’s ongoing commitment to animal welfare and life after racing for retired standardbred horses

This announcement follows the recent establishment of an animal welfare officer at HRSA.
